These little guys play such an important role in a balanced aquarium! They are nature's recyclers, and work tirelessly to scrub detritus, algae and fish poo from your tank.
Peaceful and easy- going, these snails do not eat live plants, but you may see them resting on green foliage in order to scrub away any algae or biofilms on the surface.
These guys are undemanding, but would prefer a planted, community tank within normal parameters. They do like a bit of cuttlebone here and there to keep their shells hard and clear, and will grow to about 1". Grab some of that here: Cuttlebone by Weight.
These snails do not reproduce in a freshwater aquarium. They will try by leaving tiny little "pearls" on the glass and decorations. These eggs will never hatch, however, and will slowly dissolve over time.

I purchased sample floaters and 6 snails. I was shocked to find out that there was no isolation in the package when I opened it. The package arrived in August in Georgia. The temperature inside the package was easily above 80F or 85F. All my floaters died but 3 little ones. I tried to save them but they all died eventually.
Needless to say, 1 of the 6 snails died on arrival and the other 5 were in distress. The 5 snails survived eventually. But it was such a bad experience. There would have been some kind of isolation even just for plants.
I ordered a six pack of these wonderful snails. Unfortunately, only two have made it and that’s nothing to do with them but you know shipping and all that fun stuff. But they were so respectfully quick to respond to my email and give me guidance and what to expect and how to act and make them and refund me the ones that had passed away, which is why I’m giving them the star rating that I’m giving them is because they are wonderful at Communication
Snails were dead on arrival.
I love them .. although I’ve never seen three since I put them in! One buried himself & don’t wanna be part of the FUN!!
I had opened my box immediately after delivery and 2 of the nerites were DOA. The remaining 1 barely moved and died shortly after.
