Tissue cultures are specially grown plants for those who do not want to introduce any pests of any kind to their aquarium. These are grown in specialty labs with zero possibility of algae, snails or any other undesirables, Guaranteed.
A somewhat difficult plant to grow if you don't use RO water, Eriocaulon Polaris is an interesting hedge-like plant. It sort of reminds me of a green sea urchin!
Eriocaulon needs softer water, and would be right at home in the foreground of a Tetra fish setup.
Be sure to remove the plant from its gel before planting. Simply loosen it with your fingers and wash away under running water. Plant gently as usual.
Growing requirements:
- 65-80 Degrees Fahrenheit
- Ph 6-7
- Medium to High light intensity.
- Medium- Fast growth
- 1"- 2.5" tall
- Co2 recommended for best growth.
As I like to keep real ecosystems in my aquariums, there's always the possibility of harmless snail or dwarf shrimp hitchhikers!
