The Red Neon Blue Eye Rainbowfish (Pseudomugil paskai) is native to New Guinea & Indonesia and is ideal for a planted aquarium.
Males have vibrant red-golden coloration while females typically have shorter fins but still display bright colors. For best coloration, keep your lights lower, and provide plenty of plant cover.
The Red Neon Blue Eye Rainbowfish is peaceful with similar-sized fish and can be kept with adult dwarf shrimp. Keeping them in schools of 6+ in a spacious, heavily planted aquarium shows their most intense color, especially with multiple males. Dark substrate can also enhance their coloring.
