Rathburn's Bloodfin Tetra (Aphyocharax rathbuni) is an adaptable fish with a unique light green and red color combination. Perfect for community aquariums, it is found in the Paraguay, Paraná, and Uruguay river drainages.
Swims at top/middle water levels. Safe with small fish & peaceful dwarf & Geophagus cichlids. Can also live with peaceful, larger invertebrates. Group of 6-8 fish recommended.
Thrives on varied meaty diet. Accepts high-quality dry, frozen, and live foods.
RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS:
- Temperature: 72° - 80° F
- pH: 6.5 - 7.5 (more acidic water is preferred)
- Minimum tank size: 15-20 gallons for a group of 6-8 adults
