Purple Waffle is equally at home in a bog, Paludarium hybrid, or fully potted set-up. They should NOT be completely submersed into water.
If you'd like to grow this plant in a pot in your home, they need a bright window, without direct sunlight. You'll scorch the leaves in a sunbeam! Mine do very well under a covered porch in the summers here in Kansas.
These bare-root specimens are already transitioned to growing their roots fully submerged in water.
