Easy Floater mix to get your tanks started.
This listing is for one single 8 ounce measuring cup full of mixed floaters. This is quite a bit!
You'll get a mix of Salvinia Minima, Giant Duckweed, Frogbit, Water Lettuce, and Red Rooted Floaters. Possibly a bonus sprig of Hygroryza Aristata.
This is a random scoop I harvest right before shipping, so exact quantities of each can't be guaranteed. I will ensure you get some of each type, however. This is a great way to get lots of variety without laying down too much cash.
I would guesstimate one cupful of floaters would be enough to cover half the surface of a standard ten gallon tank. I really try to stuff that 8 oz cup.
These are grown with minimal fertilizer and average light/ room temperatures. They grow in my unheated, unfiltered Walstad tanks as well, so you know they are hardy! Do note, however, that you can expect stronger growth and brighter colors when they live under better light.
For reference, I have Nicrew SkyLEDs on ten gallon tanks. Temps fluctuate between 65F in the winter to 80F in the summer. I grow these in my personal happy community tanks with colorful guppies, snails, shrimp, and of course, lots of plants! If you'd absolutely rather not have snail hitchhikers, It would be best to look up how to do a preventative bleach dip on the interwebs :)
As I like to keep real ecosystems in my aquariums, there's always the possibility of harmless snail or dwarf shrimp hitchhikers!

It was foul-smelling and had many dead plants, but there was still enough to salvage and grow.
Update: The plants that survived bounced back beautifully, and customer service was very nice. They wanted to offer a partial refund for what did not make it, but I declined simply because of how well the surviving plants bounced back, and because they propagate very quickly. It was not as tragic as I thought it would be, and will likely end up buying more plants soon.
I'm happy to report that after a week, my floaters are still doing great. Very little melt, the portion was huge, and I'm seeing new growth already.
One Cup of Mixed Floaters
I was out of town when my shipment arrived so it sat in my mailbox for a couple of days/nights. Luckily it’s not too hot here yet & not freezing at night anymore. I didn’t know what to expect when I opened it. To my surprise everything was still alive. I will be ordering more for my big tank!
Despite being held two extra days for a total of five days in transit, they showed up with some life still. Despite their lack luster health there was a good mix of types. Hopefully 30-40% survive. Red root floaters seem to be doing the best after the delivery delay.
