Poropanchax normani, or Norman's Lampeye Killifish, is ideal for nano and planted aquariums. Its name stems from the illuminated crescent above its eye. Native to Central and Western Africa, it's easy to care for, making it a perfect choice for beginners, and is known to reproduce in captivity.
The Norman’s Lampeye Killifish usually resides near the top of the aquarium. This fish may jump, so a lid/hood/canopy or lowered water level is recommended. It will not consume plants, and the presence of floating plants can provide a feeling of security. Thus, this species is best suited for a heavily planted aquarium.
The Norman’s Lampeye Killifish is not particularly choosy when it comes to nutrition and will gladly accept a range of high quality dry, frozen, and live foods of suitable dimensions, located at the waters surface.
