Koi Guppy exhibits a bi-colored body, featuring an orange dorsal and tail with a pale white mid-section. It demands housing in a minimum 10-gallon aquarium and is especially adaptive to fluctuating tank environments. Hardy varieties of plants, such as Java Fern and Java Moss, would suit this species well due to its penchant for higher water hardness levels. Other non-aggressive fish can also inhabit its habitat.

Koi Guppy males tend to be slightly smaller than their female counterparts, with more vivid hues and larger tail and anal fins. Their faces display a bright orange hue, while their overall body color exhibits a captivating depth of color. For the guppy fry to thrive, their habitat should feature floating plants or a refuge where they can hide. Nutritional offerings can include brine shrimp, micro food, and finely-ground flakes.
Remember, if your temperatures are below 40 Degrees Fahrenheit, you must purchase a Heat Pack for the Live Arrival Guarantee to apply! One needed per order; find it here: LIVE ANIMAL HEAT PACK

Cassandra's Notes:

I personally feed them everything from the OmegaOne flake and pellet line, to both frozen and live fish foods, to blanched veggies. Guppies are generally not picky eaters and will accept a wide range of meaty, quality food.

Guppies are easy to please. They live in a wide range of freshwater tanks and would prefer community, planted tanks. Guppies should not be kept with nippy fish that might pick on their long, flowing tails.
They can also be kept with peaceful invertebrates such as shrimp and snails, however there should be plenty of hiding spaces for any baby shrimp you wish to keep.
Recommended Water Parameters:
  • 65-80 degrees F.
  • 10+ Gallon tank size
  • 5.5- 8.0 PH
  • 10-30 dKH
I ship insulated with medicated water, and Purigen, by tracked and insured USPS Priority only, and use cool packs when needed.

Love the color on this guppy and he is doing what I purchased him to do. He is definitely an alpha male, you want know until he's in the tank what he will be. Well packaged in Styrofoam insulated box with cold pack to keep from overheating also each fish was put in its on bag. Will definitely buy from again.
