Beautiful flashy blue eyes.
Oryzias woworae, Daisy's Blue Ricefish, is ideal for nano aquariums due to size, color & versatility. It's a peaceful community tank fish, & adds interest to planted tanks. Fish experts debate whether it's a killifish due to behavior & breeding, but it's not closely related. It adapts to many salinities, freshwater to marine.
Daisy's Blue Ricefish swim in mid- & top levels and peacefully coexist with small fish, larger peaceful invertebrates & dwarf shrimp. For the latter, provide plants & cover; introduce shrimp first.
Daisy's Blue Ricefish need schools of 6+ and will show best color/behavior. Well-maintained water and a planted tank with dark substrate, especially with floating plants, are key for optimal health. Provide plenty of cover and a secure lid, as it's very jumpy. Also easy to breed.
Daisy's Blue Ricefish enjoys a varied omnivorous diet, such as high-quality flake food, pellets, and live, frozen, or freeze-dried Artemia, microworms, Tubifex, and finely chopped bloodworms. It also needs some vegetable matter, but won't harm plants.
