Helanthium augustifolia 'Vesuvius' used to be known as an Echinodorus sword, but has been reclassified. It is also known as a 'Corkscrew Chain Sword'
Vesuvius is a smaller, bright green sword, with thin leaves growing in an undulating manner; very much like an erupting volcano!
An easy to care for sword, Vesuvius propagates readily by sending out runners.
Very easy-to-keep plant that needs neither Co2 or high lights to thrive.
This version is larger and more mature than the bare-root versions, and is potted in rockwool with slow-release fertilizer.
Potted variety is well- rooted between 4-6" tall.
Grown EMERGENT
Growing requirements:
- 65-80 Degrees Fahrenheit
- Ph 6-8
- Low to Medium light intensity
- Moderate growth speed
As I like to keep real ecosystems in my aquariums, there's always the possibility of harmless snail or dwarf shrimp hitchhikers!
