Aponogetons are larger growing aquatic bulbs that Bettas just love!

Aponogeton natans grows long, spear shaped leaves that love to float up to the surface like lily pads; long, thin lily pads!

They won't need anything special in terms of lighting, filtration, but they will benefit from a nutrient dense soil. Supplement with root tabs for the best result!

Aponogeton bulbs should only be buried about halfway, as any more than that could cause rot. They produce fuzzy white flower stalks that sprout up beyond the water's surface!

One ~1" bulb. We try to send it sprouting so it's not a dud!

Growing requirements:

  • 65-80 Degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ph 6-8
  • Low to Medium light intensity.
  • Heavy root feeder
  • Medium growth speed

As I like to keep real ecosystems in my aquariums, there’s always a chance of harmless hitchhikers like snails or dwarf shrimp tagging along with your plants!

I personally keep several beneficial snail species in my tanks, including Colorful Ramshorns, Bronze Bladder and Pond Snails, Mini Rams, and Malaysian Trumpet Snails. These snails stay relatively small, help clean the aquarium, and do not eat healthy plants or cause harm. However, if you’d rather avoid any hitchhikers, I highly recommend checking out our blog on how to safely disinfect aquarium plants before adding them to your tank:
How to Bleach Dip Aquarium Plants Safely

All plants are freshly snipped or harvested and packed right before shipment. I take great care in preparing every order and use methods that have consistently produced the best results over many years in the hobby. A lot of love goes into every package, so please don’t leave your plants sitting in a hot mailbox for too long 🙏

Thank you for looking, aqua friends! 💚

USPS Issues

My package had some issues with USPS which isn’t that unusual as I live in a tiny hamlet. This one in particular went back and forward to the major mail centers around me. I won’t lie after about 5 extra days in the mail this plant arrived looking rough with a lot of leaf melt and I almost threw it away. However, the roots looked really healthy so I decided to plant it in my tank to give it a few days to see if it would bounce back. It hasn’t been long enough to know for sure, but it is growing new healthy growth and I think it will. I know Cass and the team would give great customer service as they have in the past but I think the quality and health really speaks for itself with the plants from GG, my plant survivability rate is better than anyplace I’ve ever bought from.

What an amazing plant!

Aponogetin Natans bulb. I didn’t know what to expect, it just looked cool. Bulb arrived with healthy looking roots, and a few stems, so great there. It settled it into the substrate of my 10 gallon. Within days it was sending up shoots to the surface. They were coiling around one another, so I moved the plant to my 37 tall. Leaves are already at the surface there now, about 24 hours after transferring. This is one excited and determined plant! It already adds so much to the scape. I have never before received a plant from any seller so healthy and full of life! Thank you! Will be shopping with Glass Grown again!
