"Glass Grown Aquatics did a careful packing job so that my plants arrived safely and were in great health! They will be a go-to for me!" -Jeff |
An excellent centerpiece plant!
Anubias 'Coffeefolia' is an beautifully textured plant. It should be placed in the front/midground, as it will grow and reproduce new shoots and larger leaves as time passes. Slow growing, but you'd eventually be able to break off sections for a new plant. This particular plant, is a 'Mother' Plant, meaning it has grown about as large as it will, over years.
These mother plants are between 8 to 20" tall, with several large leaves. They may already be budding too!
EMERGENT-GROWN
Looking for a smaller Coffeefolia verison?
These types of plants do not like to be buried, as their little roots will quickly rot. You can use thread or Cyanoacrylate super glue to attach it to rocks, driftwood, or other decorations. They stay neat and tidy! Try your hand at a Bonsai Driftwood centerpiece!
Anubias are hardy and slow-growing. Perfect for tough livestock such as goldfish and certain cichlids. Tolerates lower light, and is pretty difficult to kill in my opinion!
One thing to note: As Anubias are slow growers, algae growth can be a concern. Just keep an eye on your parameters, and put your lights on a little plug-in timer. Six hours of light is plenty.
Growing requirements:
- 65-80 Degrees Fahrenheit
- Ph 6-8
- Low to Medium light intensity.
- Slow growth speed
As I like to keep real ecosystems in my aquariums, there's always the possibility of harmless snail or dwarf shrimp hitchhikers!
