Guppies (Poecilia reticulata) are popular in freshwater aquariums worldwide, being members of the Poeciliidae family and live-bearing. Originating in northeast South America, they have been introduced around the globe. |
This Group of baby Green Cobra Endler are Fry, and are unsexed.
These are very young, and the breeding parents are pictured above. They are between 2-6 weeks old at the moment, and will be ready to breed and show full coloring within a month or three, depending on your food and tank conditions.
Endlers (Poecilia wingei) are actually very closely related to Guppies, and will readily hybridize. Endlers tend to be smaller, but are still livebearers.
Care for them as you would guppies; as they are similarly hardy and adaptable to community tanks!
Males reach a maximum length of 1 inch (2.5 cm), featuring a slender physique and vivid colourations and patterns. Females can be up to 1.8 inches (4.5 cm) long, with a fuller abdomen and generally silver-tinged colouration.
Remember, if your temperatures are below 40 Degrees Fahrenheit, you must purchase a Heat Pack for the Live Arrival Guarantee to apply! One needed per order; find it here: LIVE ANIMAL HEAT PACK
Cassandra's Notes:
I personally feed them everything from the OmegaOne flake and pellet line, to both frozen and live fish foods, to blanched veggies. Endlers, like Guppies, are generally not picky eaters and will accept a wide range of meaty, quality food.
Endlers are easy to please. They live in a wide range of freshwater tanks and would prefer community, planted tanks. Endlers should not be kept with nippy fish that might pick on their fluttery tails.
They can also be kept with peaceful invertebrates such as shrimp and snails, however there should be plenty of hiding spaces for any baby shrimp you wish to keep.
