Tylomelania gemmifera, commonly known as Rabbit Snails, are an ideal choice for aquarists wanting to add a distinct touch to their planted tank.
Also sometimes referred to as Poso Snails or Elephant Snails, Rabbit Snails are a genus of freshwater snails that have a notably exotic appearance compared to Ramshorn or Nerite Snail.
These snails feature an elongated conical shell similar in shape to the popular Malaysian Trumpet Snail. They possess two long antenna that resemble "rabbit ears" and snouts that look like an elephant's trunk, leading to their descriptive nicknames of Rabbit Snail and Elephant Snail. Most aquarium specimens originate from the lakes of Sulawesi, Indonesia.
